It really is that simple.
We’re an Open and Affirming Congregation — and have been for awhile. In the 1990s, we recognized the calling to love and welcome all of God’s children by publicly affirming the inclusion of everyone in the church’s life and ministry. We were doing what was right, before it became the right thing to do.
We support the effort, with other faith communities, to challenge Michigan’s ban on marriage and adoption by same-sex couples.

We believe it’s important to include the entire body of Christ in ministry to others. Each person brings their own unique abilities to the table, illustrating perfectly that “the eye cannot say to the hand, ‘I have no need of you.’ ” We believe “Christ is in all of us and His Church is for all.”
Jesus gets the last word because it is that simple.
